MAPACA- Mid Atlantic Alpaca Association
MaPaca is a cooperative group of alpaca breeders in the Mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia
The alpaca industry is fairly new to the U.S., but it has had the foresight to create a basic condition for maintaining the value of its bloodstock, namely, a breed registry. The Alpaca Registry (ARI) is a database housing the genealogy, blood typing/DNA and ownership records of alpacas in North America and those of a few alpacas outside this area.
